What is weight-neutral and weight-inclusive care?

We understand weight-neutral care as an umbrella term for care that does not have body weight or BMI as criteria to access it, or as a measure of its success.
We understand weight-inclusive care as a type of weight-neutral care that specifically prioritises health and well-being for people of all sizes without focusing on weight loss.
Weight-inclusive care recognises that stigma and discrimination harm health, and designs services to be accessible, respectful, and responsive to diverse needs. Crucially, these services are designed with people in marginalised groups.
